Rabbie the Red Stag Deer - HAND EMBROIDERY KIT

£20.00

RABBIE THE RED STAG is part of my Scottish Creatures collection. Red deer are a famous symbol of Scotland, and very beautiful creatures. They came to the British Isles all the way back in the Stone Age. There is a beautiful painting called The Monarch of the Glen in the national gallery that I go visit often. This pattern is partially inspired by that art piece, so you can also have a piece of Scottish history in your home.

This embroidery kit comes with all the tools, supplies, and information you need to help you create a beautiful piece of art for your home. This pattern is suitable for anyone from complete beginners upwards. So, do not worry if you have not tried embroidery or sewing before. You will be helped along with lots of resources like detailed stitch and colour guides, which are all included with your purchase.

What's in the kit?
1 x 6-inch embroidery hoop
100% unbleached calico cotton fabric
Pre-printed design on sticky stabiliser
DMC size 7 embroidery needle
DMC 100% cotton embroidery floss in all required colours; pre-cut into 50 centimetre lengths for ease.
Detailed step-by-step instructions

You will also have access to The Jasmine Esme Embroidery Guide, which includes detailed guides on all the embroidery stitches you'll need (and many more)! There is also information on everything from how to split embroidery floss to ways you may choose to frame your design. This is accessible as a digital download/ PDF, so you will always have the most up-to-date version of the guide available.

Some frequently asked questions:

Do I have to trace the pattern onto my fabric?
No! Your pattern comes pre-printed and cut on embroidery stabiliser. You simply peel off the backing and stick down on the cotton fabric. The stabiliser helps make stitching easier and completely disappears when immersed in water.

What else do I need asides from what's in the kit?
Nothing! Your thread comes pre-cut into smaller pieces so it's completely possible to complete any of my craft kits without extra materials. This makes the kits a perfect gift or activity to do with friends for the first time.

That being said, you may wish to cut off the ends of your threads as you finish using them or cut the excess fabric after finishing your pattern. Then, you will need scissors.

What age is this suitable for?
That's up to you. We recommend a minimum age of 12. The kit comes with a brand new (aka sharp) embroidery needle, so make sure the child is able to be trusted with this. Ultimately, the final decision is yours! Why not grab an extra kit and make it a fun group activity?

I've never done embroidery before! Can I do this?!
100% you can. Almost everyone starts out with an embroidery kit these days. I did! It was a much, much worse kit than this one (with poor instructions and not enough thread) but I still managed to make something passable as a complete beginner.

Just like crochet, cooking, or painting, embroidery is a skill that anyone can learn with a little help. This kit has all the information and more that even the most nervous beginner will need to make a wonderful first piece of embroidered art.

Are you a sustainable business?
We try very hard to be! Our packaging is 100% recycled and recyclable and produced in Britain. This is why you won't notice any outward branding - ink reduces how recyclable cardboard is. We also intentionally use a downloadable PDF for our embroidery stitch guide to reduce unnecessary repeat printing. The only printed materials in each kit are the colour guide and pattern-specific instructions.

We are transitioning to 100% organic Calico cotton as our old supply runs out and our committed to introducing similar changes with our embroidery hoops and paper as soon as our current stock depletes. We will be transitioning wooden hoops made in the UK and Scottish paper and card.

Anything else I should know?
These kits are entirely designed, made, and sent out by just me (Jasmine) from my studio in Scotland! Supporting this little business is supporting a real person and I quite literally happily beam for every order that comes in. Please consider trying to buy your crafts kits from small, independent sellers like me as often as you're able. It means the world!
